Jumble of pics- update on life in general.

So Jacoby is almost 5 months old already I honestly can't believe it. Time has gone so quickly!! I can't believe that my little man is that old already seems like just yesterday he was born. He is such a wonderful baby surprises me in so many ways every day. He is extremely good tempered and now is constantly smiling! It's just the sweetest thing ever! I just love his grin when I go get him in the morning and he is awake just playing sweetly and cutely by himself. It makes me day when I talk to him and he looks up and I get that awesome gummy grin. So he has been eating solids now for a couple of weeks and has been doing wonderful on them I haven't really found anything he doesn't like yet though the first time he tried bananas he was not impressed at all! I had been hoping that we would have made it to the zoo to see the baby elephant but that is still something we have yet to do this year hopefully we are able to before it gets to cold. This past weekend we had some adventures that were alot of fun! Saturday afternoon we went to Gardner Village for the witches event and he had a good time with that- I was tempted to get his face painted but the wait was just too long or I would have! Then that night we went out to Pirate Island Pizza out in Happy Valley ( I can't wait til they get one up here going down there always gives me the heebie jeebies and makes me feel like I am going to burst out in hives any second ). I had always thought that I would have a big fat chubby baby but so far he is quite the opposite he is actually a skinny little guy- so far all predictions except that I knew he had my nose ( I could see that in his ultrasound ) and that I had hoped he would have my eyelashes (which is true) were not what I expected. I had thought that Jacoby would have dark hair and dark eyes- Well he did have dark hair when he was born so maybe that counts but nope to my surprise I have a blonde haired blue eyed baby boy lol. ( I suspect his hair will get darker when he gets older but the blue eyes are still shocking ). But he really is adorable! He is such a loving bossy little boy though it's amazing how determined he is about things like how he wants to be held or if he wants to sit or stand. I love it though. I feel so blessed to have such a great kid! So I will be posting some pics of him and some of my self- They are raning from this weekend when we were at Pirate Pizza back to July when we went to Jones 1st birthday party and Jacobys first park adventure. Okay well it won't let me post the rest of the pics that I wanted so I will have to try to do that later at a later time! but those 2 are from October 3rd at Pirate pizza.

week1 : on a mission with Green Beans

So Jacoby is 4 months old now and at his 4 month appointment his peditrician gave the go ahead for us to start solid foods. Well I waited a few days cause the little guy had a cold and I wanted him to be able to appreciate the taste of the new food. So last Sunday we tried cereal as an expierement since he has been so interested in what I am doing and what I have been eating for the past few weeks I thought you know we can try it out if he does well great we can go forward if not no big deal we will try again at a later time. Well he did really well with the cereal so I decided we would try something green... I had intended for him to have peas first which I know some people thought was cruel and mean knowing how much I myself despise peas but I made a mistake and grabbed green beans instead oh well they are still green and those I actually do love. Well so we tried them and he loved them. ( there were witnesses to this adventure yes ). He did wonderful he knew where the green beans were coming from and when they would approach his mouth he would open it waiting for the green beans to make their landing on his tongue. Now as soon as he sees the food and the spoon he gets all excited about what is coming. Yep it now means that he has stinky diapers but oh well at least my little guy is happy and when we start the next new food I am going with peas... this way I know what not to make or buy when he starts to run low on things.

I love it now that his little personality is starting to show through! He is such a happy easy going little guy I just love when he smiles and now he is starting to laugh. I couldn't have been more blessed.

I did it!

So this weekend I did it... I made my first babyfood and you know what it was uber easy! I made squash, zucchini, both of those together and then apricots.. yep they are all chilling in my freezer waiting for consumption next up peaches, mangos and applesauce maybe some avacado. Seriously I rock go me.

HOMEMADE BABYFOOD.....

Yes.... that is right I am considering making homemade baby food for the little man. I don't know when I became so domesticated but it's like now I want to make my own babyfood that way he tries new things in addition to the jar ones too. But I want to make my own announcements thank you cards ( which I am actually working on as we speak ). Its like Martha Stewart has taken over my body! Not to mention I am on the hunt for a Julia Child cookbook and a Paula Deen one as well..... I am going to do like the chick in Julie/Julia and make a meal not everyday like she did but at least attempt it every week. Cause really there are only few things that I cook and make these days and I really want Jacoby to grow up eating decently lol... trying to not have fast food every night though that would probaly be really convienant however. So we will have to see how this pans out.. It works well now though because the farmers markets are in session and if I get started now and get stuff freezing it will be ready when he is ready to eat it!
