It has honestly been quite the year. So many changes and so many new things and vacations :). Fantastic memories that have been made.

It honestly feels like 2011 has flown by..... I am hoping that come next year there will be alot less of me.

This year we did many exciting and fun things. I took Jacoby to the treehouse museum in Ogden (we seriously need to get back there again it was a good time he loved it ). We went to Disneyland. That was an awesome trip. Thanks Misty and Jones :). We went camping up to the cabin with Beau, Rachel, Frieda and all the kids that was fantastic as well.

Jacoby started pre-school this year. It honestly amazes me how much he has learned at school. He can sing his alphabet and can count to about 15 ( someitmes he gets confused after 10 but most of the time he gets what he is counting ) he can name every Thomas train that he has as well as the ones that he sees on the show. He also thinks that he is a pirate.... Argh! I can't wait to see what this next upcoming year brings to us! We have so many plans for the future can't wait! I have to say that even though he is obnoxious at times I do love that little face because he is so cute lol. It's the bad times like tantrums that make you appreciate the fun times and smiles all that much more. Looking forwad to our super bright future and other new adventures!

I seem to find this a bit disturbing but I shouldn't find it surprising after their stance on gays and lesbians.... however it was still shocking that they would actually advocate this. Luckily some peoeple i.e my parents didn't listen or take heart in this reccomendation or I probaly wouldn't be here today...

I have to admit that I have been slacking and now I have alot of things to catch up for. So warning this post will be filled with tons and tons of pictures so be prepared. So let's see Jacoby has started walking and he walks up a storm except when he is at my parents house he doesn't wak so much over there.. not sure why? Maybe it's cause he knows my mom is a sucker and he thinks that he doesn't have to walk for her or something. He has also learned to talk he says ba which is ball, hi, hey, mom and now recently mine. It's so cute watching him learn and talk and walk and do all these things that he didn't do before like pointing, clapping and singing along with dancing. He loves to play ball and he understands that some balls can bounce and he thinks that is great. We have had just the 2 teeth since Christmas and now he seems to be having a a tooth explosion am going to say we are probay getting like 6 or 7 at once. It's crazy cause I am so used to seeing him toothless and now we have all these little toofers coming in at once it's crazy!

Well my baby is officially considered a toddler now. He turned 1 on May 16th. We had his party on 15th it was alot of fun and we had a good turn out with good friends food and fun. Then on his actual birthday we went to the zoo. He loved it. He was really enthralled by the elephants and the rhino those seemed to be the clear cut favorites especially the baby elephant Zuri.

Jacoby and I have been blessed to be in a great circle of friends who we consider family. I don't know honestly where we would be without them today. Thank you for being our family ( some if you actually are family Jake and Jamis ). We just wanted to let you know how much we love you all and thanks for all the support and love.

It really seems like just yesterday Jacoby made his appearance in the world. This year has come and gone so fast! It has been the best ride ever though. Love my little guy.

Jacoby's lack of desire to walk and talk are beginning to become really frustating. That as well as people telling oh he was early you shouldn't expect so much. Well I wouldn't if he hasn't been cruising for 4 1/2 months.... Yep I would have thought by now he would have figured it out in fact he does wonderfully when pushing his walking toys.. He understand the concept just not the freedom of doing it by himself. Then hearing of his friends who happen to be younger ( I don't want to hear the well he was born early b.s right now because it's not welcome ). Do I sound bitter? Yes. Am I bitter about this? Yes. Dear people who feel like telling me oh will come in due time. Please shut your mouth those comments aren't welcome and do nothing to make the situation better if anything it makes it all that much more bitter and frustrating,

I wish that I could be writing here how the boy is finall walking but alas... I swear it's neve going to happen. He has been crawling since January cruising the middle of January and here we are in the middle of April and honeslty I am really getting frustrated especially since I have a friends who's children started crawling and cruising after he did. I know I know you arne't supposed to compare children but seriously I am done with the cruising. I had thought for sure he would hve been walking at Easter- Nope that came and went. I have given up hope that e will be walking next month when he turns 1. He seriously reminds me of an 80year old man! Not much hair, 2 teeth, uses a walker to walk still eats some purees and needs his butt and drool wiped. But oh well I can't make him do what he doesn't want to do ( I am not going with ready cause he is more then ready to walk he walks around all the time with his stupid walker and has mastered turning and changing direction ). But here are some pictures.

So things have been kind of crazy now for awhile and I have been bad and haven't updated anything. It's been about a month since I last updated well maybe a little longer seeing as in a week he will be 10 months old! Can't believe it. Let's see- we are still waiting for teeth 3 & 4 I honestly would have thought that they would have made their appearance by now. However no such luck. He still isn't walking he is cruising around furniture like there is no tomorrow but that is about the extent of it. Though he does stand by himself. He is also starting to be weaned from baby food. What we have left is it. Used up all I have made for him and now just using what we have left of the jars and then we are done.
But over the weekend he actually tried some new things and just adored them. We as a family went to Chuck A Rama after Losepelli's baptism. It was really funny to be able to spend sometimes with the extended fam. Jacoby loved it because he adores being around people. He has no stranger danger at all he believes that when we go places everyone is there to see and hang out with him. However back to Chuck a Rama. I let the boy try some salmon ( loved it ) chicken ( couldn't seem to get enough ) and lasagna and mac & cheese he loved it all. It's amazing what a happy little guy he is. Everyone seems to remark on that as well as his "gorguess eyes".
Yep proud to say he got those from me hahaha!
i can't really think of anything else that is really exciting other then we are walking the day before Jacoby's 1st birthda with the March of Dimes in honor of Jacoby since he was born at 35 weeks and is still a preemie though albeit a later term preemie but still a preemie. So if anyone is interested in donating please let me know-

So I wanted to do a little update with things that have been going on- The boy actually started crawling this month and now has it down hard core. He can get anywhere very quickly. He has also since learned that he can pull himself up and feels that he needs to be standing constantly.

He also has his first 2 teeth on the bottom. I believe that here in the next few weeks we will have 3 & 4 up on top. Hard to believe now that he is 8 1/2 months old it goes way way way too fast but it's so much fun. I just love that little guy so much!

A new decade starts.

I can still surprisingly remember where I was at the start of the last millenium almost as if it was yesterday. I was with Britnie, Anne Jason, Billy, Caliab and Brian. We were downtown for the what was called at the time "First Night Celebration" out on the streets of Salt Lake with tons and tons of other people. I remember that I bought a special new dress and a feather boa for the occasion ( I had to dress up the dress )... I had no idea what to expect of the new millenuim. I had always thought whent he year 2000 came we would be driving in little cars like those on the Jetson's and maybe living on the moon. However in my defense I was only 5 when I believed those things because it just seemed so far away.
When I think back on the past decade there is a song that comes to mind. "It's so hard to Say goodbye to yesterday by:Boyz II Men". It's true though how do you say goodbye to yesterday? When this decade started I had no idea of what was to go where I would go the people that I would meet and things that would change my life drastically. I mean I moved to Texas in 01 for a few years and met people down there that I cherish with all my life and I don't know if I would have made it out there with out them. Reconnected with an old friend and have stayed reconnected. Now live in my own house. The biggest but the best thing that came out of the decade of course would be Jacoby. I can't even begin to picture my life without him. I honestly can't wait to see what the next decade brings. I can look back on this decade with fondess, there were good timesm truimphs, heart aches loss and great friendships but those are what made me the person that I am today and I wouldn't change it a bit. Never look back with regrets or wonder just look forward with hope and learning.

So this past Sunday I took Jacoby to South Towne Mall where we met up with friends to get our kids pictures taken with Santa Claus. I honestly wasn't sure how he would do but had hoped it would do wonderfully because he loves people and loves to be the center of attention. But he did wonderful and seemed perfectly content to be sitting there :) He looks like such a little man now! Growing up way too fast.

I am only slighted belated in writing this as next week he will be 7 months old!

But I still can't believe that my little man is halfway to being a year old. Seems like just yesterday he was this tiny little guy that they placed in my arms who was so little and peaceful.

Now I have this little bossy person who can reach and grab and thinks that he is capable of all kinds of things. Lately I have decided that I shall refer to him as the toothless wonder. Yep we still have no signs at all of teeth nor of being able to sit by himself. He has quite the little personlity and is such a happy little guy and loves to play with toys or play in his toys :). When we went in for his 6 month appointment he was 25 3/4" long and 15lbs 12oz. He had officially tripled his birth weight!

So we had a really rough weekend. The poor little guy was just miserable Saturday morning. Nothing seemed to make him happy and trying to get him to take a nap so that he would feel better was nearly impossible. But by the evening he seemed to be doing better. I am really hoping that this sickness is the cause of teething and nothing more serious. I do worry about him though. Poor little guy. Good thing we already have a doctors appointment for this afternoon.

Jacoby's first halloween!!!

So I can't believe that Jacoby's first halloween came and went already! It was quite the weekend event. The day before Halloween he came trick or treating and spent a couple of hours with me at work that was fun and he collected tons of candy that unfortunatly since he has no teeth as of yet I had to eat for him. Then that evening we went to a little carnival of sorts that was held in my parents neighborhood and that was fun but it was more for me I think that it was for him the little guy actually slept through the whole event! Even though he was all in costume and all cutified. Yep cutified. (He was a giraffe that day ).

Then on Halloween itself we had quite the day we went to lunch with my grandma and then we came home and started to get ready for the night. We this year only went trick or treating to my Uncle Dwight and Aunt Nada's house. ( due to special circumstances a beloved pet was put down to rest and then the grandparents were in Cali ). Then we went to Frieda's house gathered up all the troops and headed out to go trick or treating. We went to Friedas sisters house and then up my old street and then around my old neighborhood for a bit. He was a good boy and was so excited to be out and about and enjoying himself. Then later that evening we went and hung out and ate pizza. It was all in all a good Halloween and the best part the weather was beyond fantastic and agreeable! I can only hope that it's that great next year when Jacoby is more able to appreciate the fun of Halloween!

So I took Jacoby to the peditrician yesterday cause he had been coughing for over a week which had me a little worried. They didn't measure his height but he is now 15lbs 2 oz. He has gained over 10lbs since being born way to go little man!
Everything looked good and he sounds good I was honestly worried that he might have RSV or something like that but he has a upper respitory infection and an earache so he is now on antibiotics for that. He doesn't seem to mind his new meds in fact I honestly think that he kind of likes them! I would have never suspected that though. He didn't really act like he felt horribly or anything like that he was still his happy little go lucky self.

So it's been about a week now since Jacoby finally started rolling over. He had been trying for so long but just couldnt' figure out what to do with his arm and then it finally happened.... I have learned 1 thing about this little man when he does something he does it big. Once he figured out how to get over it was on after that. He went back to belly first and then belly to back and now every chance he gets of course he rolls over. He likes to show off his new trick and does it right away. ( About the only thing he does when you want him too lol ).
He has also learned lately that he has a voice... and loves to shriek. He now even holds conversations with his duck that he has on his carseat. It's the cutest thing ever.
So he has been eating babyfood for over a month now alot I still make myself like for example he had bananas and mangos last night for dinner and the other day he had avacado and banana. Somethings I do get in jars though just because it's easier should we happen to be out and about. I have found a few things that he really loves. He adores greenbeans & peas. Is warming up to sweet potatos ( does better with the homemade ones then the jars ) loves bananas- However the first time he had them he was less then impressed so now he usually eats those fresh just mashed. It honestly amazes me how grown up already he is and how he isn't my tiny little baby anymore. He is at such a fun age but it makes me sad that he is growing up so fast!

I honestly love the month of October and not just because it's my birthday however that is a big factor. But, because I love Halloween and the fall leaves ( I could however do without the cool weather I think that like 80 during the day and maybe 55-60 at night would be perfec if not warmer sometimes ). But I love the pumpkins decorations and Haunted houses. I can't honestly wait til Jacoby is old enough to truly enjoy those things but I figure at 5 months he isn't over enthusiastic about it but- he does love being around other people so that works for me. He is quite the social baby. Handsome too. I am hoping that we are able to make it to a pumpkin patch this weekend I think that would be a great tradition for him and I to do as he gets older. That among other things. Oh and for the record this past weekend he went on his first merry go round ride.

October is Preemie Awareness month~

Please please support the March of Dimes and their fight with preemies. As the mother of a preemie I am very blessed that there were no complications or any need other then observation for my son to spend time in the NICU. Having baby that small is an extremely scary and overwhelming thing!!! But it is the best blessing you will ever have. Preemies are true miracles!

So Jacoby is almost 5 months old already I honestly can't believe it. Time has gone so quickly!! I can't believe that my little man is that old already seems like just yesterday he was born. He is such a wonderful baby surprises me in so many ways every day. He is extremely good tempered and now is constantly smiling! It's just the sweetest thing ever! I just love his grin when I go get him in the morning and he is awake just playing sweetly and cutely by himself. It makes me day when I talk to him and he looks up and I get that awesome gummy grin. So he has been eating solids now for a couple of weeks and has been doing wonderful on them I haven't really found anything he doesn't like yet though the first time he tried bananas he was not impressed at all! I had been hoping that we would have made it to the zoo to see the baby elephant but that is still something we have yet to do this year hopefully we are able to before it gets to cold. This past weekend we had some adventures that were alot of fun! Saturday afternoon we went to Gardner Village for the witches event and he had a good time with that- I was tempted to get his face painted but the wait was just too long or I would have! Then that night we went out to Pirate Island Pizza out in Happy Valley ( I can't wait til they get one up here going down there always gives me the heebie jeebies and makes me feel like I am going to burst out in hives any second ). I had always thought that I would have a big fat chubby baby but so far he is quite the opposite he is actually a skinny little guy- so far all predictions except that I knew he had my nose ( I could see that in his ultrasound ) and that I had hoped he would have my eyelashes (which is true) were not what I expected. I had thought that Jacoby would have dark hair and dark eyes- Well he did have dark hair when he was born so maybe that counts but nope to my surprise I have a blonde haired blue eyed baby boy lol. ( I suspect his hair will get darker when he gets older but the blue eyes are still shocking ). But he really is adorable! He is such a loving bossy little boy though it's amazing how determined he is about things like how he wants to be held or if he wants to sit or stand. I love it though. I feel so blessed to have such a great kid! So I will be posting some pics of him and some of my self- They are raning from this weekend when we were at Pirate Pizza back to July when we went to Jones 1st birthday party and Jacobys first park adventure. Okay well it won't let me post the rest of the pics that I wanted so I will have to try to do that later at a later time! but those 2 are from October 3rd at Pirate pizza.

week1 : on a mission with Green Beans

So Jacoby is 4 months old now and at his 4 month appointment his peditrician gave the go ahead for us to start solid foods. Well I waited a few days cause the little guy had a cold and I wanted him to be able to appreciate the taste of the new food. So last Sunday we tried cereal as an expierement since he has been so interested in what I am doing and what I have been eating for the past few weeks I thought you know we can try it out if he does well great we can go forward if not no big deal we will try again at a later time. Well he did really well with the cereal so I decided we would try something green... I had intended for him to have peas first which I know some people thought was cruel and mean knowing how much I myself despise peas but I made a mistake and grabbed green beans instead oh well they are still green and those I actually do love. Well so we tried them and he loved them. ( there were witnesses to this adventure yes ). He did wonderful he knew where the green beans were coming from and when they would approach his mouth he would open it waiting for the green beans to make their landing on his tongue. Now as soon as he sees the food and the spoon he gets all excited about what is coming. Yep it now means that he has stinky diapers but oh well at least my little guy is happy and when we start the next new food I am going with peas... this way I know what not to make or buy when he starts to run low on things.

So this weekend I did it... I made my first babyfood and you know what it was uber easy! I made squash, zucchini, both of those together and then apricots.. yep they are all chilling in my freezer waiting for consumption next up peaches, mangos and applesauce maybe some avacado. Yes.... that is right I am considering making homemade baby food for the little man. I don't know when I became so domesticated but it's like now I want to make my own babyfood that way he tries new things in addition to the jar ones too. But I want to make my own announcements thank you cards ( which I am actually working on as we speak ). Its like Martha Stewart has taken over my body! Not to mention I am on the hunt for a Julia Child cookbook and a Paula Deen one as well..... I am going to do like the chick in Julie/Julia and make a meal not everyday like she did but at least attempt it every week. Cause really there are only few things that I cook and make these days and I really want Jacoby to grow up eating decently lol... trying to not have fast food every night though that would probaly be really convienant however. So we will have to see how this pans out.. It works well now though because the farmers markets are in session and if I get started now and get stuff freezing it will be ready when he is ready to eat it!

I can't believe how fast time goes... seems like just yesterday my lil man was born and now here is he 6 weeks old who would have ever thought!!! But I am posting a then and now picture so you can see how grown up now my lil guy is!

A lil late but here is the story of my babyman

I know I am a little late cause granted Jacoby (pronounced Ja-co-bee just cause people want to call him Jack-o-bee or Jacob-e).

So here is the story of the adventure that he and I took... Friday May 15th I was scheduled for my first stress test. They had told me that it would take about 20minutes to an hour but shouldn't be anymore then that so I scheduled to take my lunch during that time and then come back to work. Well it obviously didn't quite work out that way. Earlier that week on Wednesday when I had gone in for my weekly visit ( yep at 34 weeks I was already doing once a week visits ). At that time I was beginning to show just the minute trace of protein in my urine and honestly I wasn't surprised I had suspected for some time with the extreme swelling that I had been expierencing that I would soon be a victum to the wonderul pre-eclampsia. ( however I just didn't know how soon that would be ). So when I did my stress test they told me that they needed to pre-register me which honesty ended up being a good thing since of course they later admitted m and didn't let me leave for like the next 6 days. But so they got me registered I do have to admit that I found that to be irratating only because I felt like I had been driving around the parking lot stalking people for their parking spots for 15 minutes prior and was worried about being late. That was the one thing during pregnancy I hated to walk any longer then I had too even though when I wasn't at the doctor I didn't really care if I had to walk unless it was cold and then it would practically make me cry which was totally lame.

So they got me all registerd and upstairs I went. So after sitting in the waiting room for like 10 minutes they finally called me back and explained the process well as they were setting me up in the room the nurse came back and was like you know I forgot to have you provide a urine sample and by that point I was happy to oblige I had figured that they would need one so I came with a full bladder prepared. So I came back and she had my chart in hard and told me that it was showing that I was at a +2 protein level and how in less then 48 hours I had gone from trace to full spillage. Not a good thing. So they set me up for my stress test. So in there I sat the bonus is at least you are able to listen to the heartbeat while you are in there and you even get an ultrasound ( this being the 2nd one that week i had one on Wednesday- where they were concerned with my fluid levels looking a little low but they were fine on this one ). So I was not only able to listen to his heartbeat but they hooked it up and allowed it so I was able to watch and see what he was doing while I was sitting there all hooked up to the machine. Well so an hour passes I have watched many people come and go and after they set up noone came into see me since they set that all up. I could see them walking by and standing outside my room and talking and they would look at me but noone said anything. At this point I was wondering what is going on and feeling tired. I know that I feel asleep a couple of times during this. So i started texting Tami because at this point I was supposed to be back at work and of course when I am ready and get the guts to ask what is going on noone is around! But so I text her and said I didn't know what was going on because noone had talked to me but that I was hoping to be able to leave soon but, lo and behold I would soon find out that wasn't to happen.

Well finally about 4:00pm ( this after being there for almost 2 hours ) I finally had someone in and talk to me it was the nice nurse who had assisted me when I first came in and talked to me about the results of my urine test. Apparently they had been waiting to hear back from my doctor and the neonatologist that was there to find out what they should do with me (would have been nice to know ). So they told me that because of my urine test results and previously high blood pressure that they were going to admit me overnight to monitor me and that I would be doing another 24 hour urine test ( this being the 3rd most normal people have to do 1 maybe 2if the results are inclusive. ). But so they got the wheelchair and wheeled me upstairs. Once up there they got me at settled and my doctor came in and told me he was on call that night so he would be by to see me and make sure everything was okay. Well they were not only having me do the 24 hour urine but they were to monitor my blood pressure every 30 minutes. Well the nurse came in and told me that they would be bring me some dinner if I was interested which I was because I had skipped my lunch that day and I was beyond starving! ( The one thing I realized during my nice long almost week stay in the hospital was that hospital food really wasn't all that bad I was eating alot better then I ever had! )

So at this point I just had figured that I would only be there 1 day and I would be released in time the next day to attend my baby shower. Yeah that obviously didn't happen. So at this point I was sitting in the hospital room I had never actually been in the maternity ward itself just spent alot of time down in labor and delivery I want to say that prior to this stay I had been down there 4 times? Just for them to monitor me and the baby for a couple of hours because my blood pressure had been so high. So I made myself at home in the bed and started watching a what not to wear marathon. I talked to my friends let them know I was there and told them no they didn't need to come and visit or anything like that I would be ok it was just an overnight visit.... ( yeah that is what I thought! ) talked to my sister. ( I didn't mention to her however that I was in the hospital because she would tell my mom and I didn't want to worry her since at the time they had told me everything was okay they were just going to monitor me ). So I took it easy ate some cookies ( during this stay i became addicted to those lorna doone shortbread cookies oh wow those things are awesome!! ). Well they came into to check my blood pressure about 12:30 I had been awake I took a nap about 9:30 and then had woken up about midnight and was watching tv again. Well the nurse took my blood pressure and after was like no that can't be right. Well she took it again and was like oh that isn't good. I was figuring it was just high again. Well she left the room and her and another nurse and the cna came back and were like well are going to move you downstairs ( figured so that they could hook us both up and monitor my blood pressure and his vitals. Well so they then told me well we are just going to take you in the bed you are in now ( I started thinking that this was a little strange but okay ) so... they wheeled me out of the room towards the elevator. At this point I still wasn't sure what exactly was going on well in the elevator she called me doctor and told him that they had me and that we were on our way downstairs and they would start getting set up so I could be incuded. At that point I honestly thought that I had heard wrong... I wasn't ready and I was terrified. I wasn't due for another 5 weeks I wasn't sure what would happen if my lil guy would have to stay in the nicu or what. I think that was about the time I went into shock cause I was scared and didn't know what to think other then I wasn't ready and didn't have anything with me! So when they got me into the room they were explaining to me what was going on how they were going to put me on magnesuim because my blood pressure was so high I could have had a stroke ( that I do have to admit totally scared me ). The nurse asked me if there was anyone that she wanted me to get ahold of and call. I told her no I didn't want to wake anyone up ( that was something that made some people made later on laugh out loud but at the time I was so not sure of what was going on and it didn't seem real I and I really didnt want to wake anyone up ). So they started the pictocin and then the magnesuim that was crazy though when they did that because it is supposed to lower your blood pressure which it did it lowered it almost way too much it went down to 56/23 and it was strange like I couldn't stay awake it made me sleepy but then they gave me a shot of adreneline and everything was okay again. So then I hung out slept they broke my water at around 6:30 that morning, ( when they had taken me in I was at a 4 when they broke my water I was still at a 4. I knew then it would be along day! So 1030am arrives and I figure it's late enough in the morning that I should be able to call and not wake up people so I called Rachel cause I knew that Frieda didn't really answer numbers that she didn't know. So i called Rachel and told her what was going on she was so mad I didn't call her and tell her before ( personally at this point I was disapointed that I would have to miss my shower I was looking forward to food!! and seeing people that I hadn't seen in awhile. ) So then I called Frieda and left her a message told her I would be calling her back I was in the hospital answer her phone lol. So then I talked to her they decided that they would stay and let people know what was goin on ( I sort of had to wait since my battery died on my phone and I couldn't call anyone.) so I asked them to pack me a bag and bring my phone charger and that sometime soon we would have a baby. ( I still was really unsure at this point it was like is this really happening ) . so I hung out by myself watched tv and then about 1 Britnie showed up to come and visit me then around 2 my parents came. I was a little surprised i hadn't called them because still now 12 hours later I was at a 4.. I figured I wouldn't want them to be bored and I know that they usually get alot of their stuff done during the day on Saturdays. Then my cousin's wife Jamie showed up. Well about the time that my mom came the doctor who was no longer my doctor he had gone home for the day but told me he would try and be back for my labor came in ( funny enough he is the father of one of Rikke's really good friends so I knew that I was in good hands! not to mention the epidural guy was someone who used to work for my dad back in the day when he was going through med school so that made me feel better that I was in really good hands with both of these gentlemen ). But, not long after my parents had walked in the doctor came in and was like well if we don't have any progress soon we will have to sharpen those scapels and cut that baby out. I think that made my mom freak out a little bit but I knew that I we wouldn't have to go that route. That was about 2:30 my mom then asked if I had called my sister and I told her I couldn't because my phone was dead so I called and told her I was in the hospital and they had induced me and that I would be having the baby sometime soon ( she was a little upset I hadn't told her I was in the hospital when I talked to her the night before )... but I didn't think I was going to have the baby and I know that my mom is quite the worrier and that was another reason that I didn't want to call her so that she wouldn't stress me out. 2:45 the upped the pitocin as far as it would go... They told me that was it no progress and out the scapels came! About 3 the nurse ( I seriously had some awesome labor nurses who were with me through the entire progress ) came in and said that it was suggested that they change my position and see if that made a difference since of course I was still stuck at a 4. So they placed me on my side sort of laying on my stomach and what do you know when he came in to check on me at 3:45 I HAD FINALLY PROGRESSED!! ( seriously it was about time!! ). So we hung out and all that stuff just waiting about 4:15 I really thought that I needed to go to the bathroom so I waited and waited and then finally told the nurse that I thought that I really needed to use the restroom ( talk about embarressing! ) So the nurse was like okay we will get everyone out and check your cervix because chances are that is the baby's head that you feel but we will check and see. So she checked and I think that at that point she was really surprised as well that I was at a 10. She was like well I will page the doctor and we will get you all set up to start pushing. So she paged him to call her and let her know what was going on in the meantime everyone else was hanging out outside the room waiting. So they got me all set up and told me that it was time to push and the doctor would be in shortly. So they got me all set up and had me start to push it was about ohh 4:50 by this time and my mom had come in the room- . So I started to push I seriously thought I was going to pass out I couldn't push any harder and I was seeing stars and felt like nothing was happening. Well finnally the doctor walked in while i was pushing the last time ( it was my 3rd push ) and he was getting ready and the baby had crowned I could feel his little head and then all of a sudden I could feel him start to come out on his own he was slipping out! I looked at them all and said he is coming out!! I can feel him slipping! I don't think that they believed me til they looked and he was! But then next thing I knew out he came!! They handed him to me and I just remember my mom saying that he had hair! then they whisked him off to the table to get him cleaned.. I was waiting for him to cry and it seriously felt like forever!! All I could see was his angry mouth opening and closing and no sound coming out and then finally... there was a cry! I couldn't believe how beautiful he was!! But then I was shocked that he was so small! I thought he would be at least over 6lbs but nope.. He was my lil man they said he was 5lbs 4oz and then 19 1/2 " ( though he did shrink when we went to the peds office to 19" lol ). But I just remember telling the nurses that after he was born that wasn't as bad as I thought it would be that I was in more pain during times of my pregnancy like when I would wake up in the middle of the night to roll over and wasn't able too! But, all in all it worked out well my little man came out strong and with no problems. He didn't have to spend more then a couple of hours in the nicu and that was because they were checking him out. I have to say that finally getting to meet my babyman was wonderful. I still couldn't get over the shock that he actually had hair!! That was surprising. That and what a wonderful little guy he is! So good and so sweet!

Holy moly time has flown! Only 7 more weeks!!!

I still can't quite get over how quickly but still slowly at the same time... Seems like just yesterday I was trying to wait patiently ( though not completely successfully ) to find out the sex of this baby and here we are approaching 7 weeks til the cooking timer goes off and he will be fully baked. Now it's the time crunch to get everything done- so here is to hoping everything is all ready to go here in the month and half!

I don't really drink alot of soda anyways though when I am out eating with friends I do like to have some soda. I am quite fond of orange or grape sodas as a matter of fact though after today the thought of orange soda makes my stomach lurch... Thank you 3 hour gluclose test. Yep so the 1 hour test that wasn't too bad at all. It was like really syrupy orange soda but the one I had to take today was like so syrupy it was hard to gag it down ( good thing I went really really thirsty or I don't know how I would gotten it down!). Now I just have to hope that I passed the test especially cause Easter is coming and I will be really sad if I have to be on a stupid "special" diet and everyone else can eat what they want. I mean if I was on a diet by choice that would be one thing but if it was a mandatory one blah no fun. Oh well though what can you at least there are only 10 1/2 weeks left ( though possibly less cause my doctor is thinking he may come early ) so that means I better get my butt in gear~

So yesterdy was the big day and ta-dah!!!! I was given an answer! it's a BOY!!! yeah! Everything looked good and the ultrasound went well no problems or issues or anything like that so that was good- due date also stayed the same and he currently weighs about 1lb! Just about 4 more months and he will be here finally!

and the wait continues.............

So despite all my hopes yesterday there was no confirmation of boy or girl... Though the doctor said like me he suspects that it's a girl but we will just have to wait a few weeks and see! It was hard enough to wait this long without thinking that the wait wasn't going to kill me so we will have to see how the next wait goes. I hope that all goes well though and I am able to find out for sure! I would like to say that I am brave and patient enough to wait and find out the gender in June when the baby is born but.......... I don't think that I have that kind of patience maybe if I ever have another child I will wait but it's much easier I think when you know! So now the wait for the next 3 weeks to pass will be a long one but I can do it. I suppose eventually I could get some pictures posted on but, I am not so good with that kind of thing so that may be something in time that I learn but in the mean time the wait begins!

I can feel the excitement in the air!

Today there is an amazing vibe! I could feel the excitement as soon as I woke up. Took me about a minute to realize what day it was..... Then when I did it really made my morning very exciting. Pretty much anyone that knows me knows that I am not a fan of Bush. So this day has been a long time in coming for me. I will admit that President Obama was not my first choice in the beginning I was a huge Hillary Clinton supporter but, over time since he won the primary I have actually found that maybe he is the right candidate for the job. I am very optimistic about him at the helm of our country. We need someone who is still able to have a postivie outlook and who believes that change is possible. I feel blessed that my child will be born during such a historic presidency! I still have hope that sometime in my lifetime I will live to see a woman as president. I am sure that time will come. But it's so fantastic! I can just feel the excitement in the air. I have high hopes that even though it will take time that eventually we will be able to surface from the mess that we are in and I know that change starts today.

To have or not to have.....

So with the baby coming religion is brought up as an issue. Whether or not I will choose to have the baby blessed or not or if I will allow he or she to attend primary and honestly I am still on the fence where both of those issues are concerned. I will say this I am a spiritual person I believe in the holy trinity and a higher being concept- but, organized religion? Not so much. I was raised going to church but it just never seemed right to me. There was always something that was a little off and I think that would be about the people. Most of the people were nice but I remember thinking you know here we are supposed to be preaching about loving one another and not being taught to judge but you know what I saw that sort of thing happening all around me. People who wouldn't let their children play with other children because they had different beliefs then they did. Wow what fantastic examples you are! Is that supposed to make you better? You sure aren't setting a "christ like example" by doing that. If anything you are showing how close minded you are and people like you make me sick. People like you are why I don't believe in organzied religion. You know it's not just the mormon religion that practices that sort of "hate" it would be all religions. Isn't the goal of religion to recruit those who are lost and out of the fold? How are you expecting to do that when you islolate them and make them defensive and offeneded by your actions? That is a question that I ask. Do I want to raise my child around people like that? I was very lucky that my parents weren't the type of people to restrict who my friends were because of choice of religion or lack there of. I had many friends who didn't attend church when I was younger and those who attended different churches. That didn't make them a bad person they were just raised differently. Religion can serve a function but it can also be used as a tool of judgement. I hope that the world my child grows up in regardless of whether I choose to have her participate in religion or I don't not be subject to some of the things that I saw or even expierenced by watching people and friends that I love being treated different because they attended a different church then what was considered "the norm". What I hate the most is those that try to push their beliefs on you and when you tell them that you aren't interested they become defensive. I could have swore that when we were born onto this earth there was this word... and the meaning of the word that really were supposed to be the case scenario. Free agency. Freedom of choice. Why bother to get defensive because someone has a different view of things and life then you do? Oh well not a big deal. But as for whether I am going to have the baby blessed or not... I really don't know where the church is concerned i feel extremely burned and disillusioned. I really don't think that there is a way to change that because even things that have happened recently didn't help to make that much better..... Oh well though this just proves another point that I really don't want those people to influence the life of my child.

Don't get me wrong... I like the snow I really do and I know that it serves a good purpose so I am all for it snowing but.... I just wish it would stay off the roads or stay only up in the mountains. I am not saying that because I am a horrible driver in the snow. I wouldn't say it's my favorite thing in the world it's just I dont' trust other drivers that are out on the road with me. I don't pretend when I go out that I have this awesome car that handles like a snow mobile when I am out there i know what my car is capable of and when I watch other people who are driving the same type of car as me or something similar like oh honda civics or toyota corollas who act like we are on the Indy 500 track I think you konw those are the people that I am afraid of... But it's been snowing almost every day for over a week now. It doesn't ever seem to want to let up I feel like soon enough we will have to litterally dig out every morning in order to get somewhere- Though the bright side to this would be living in such a dry climate we really need all the stored moisture and water that we can get so that makes it better but still I just think that snow would be more useful up in the mountains than in the valleys unless it just had some kind of special router that would make it so that it avoided the roads and just landed on the grass and rooftops not on walkways either. Hey a girl can wish!

Sometimes I wonder if there possibly wasn't a mix up at the hospital.

Yes... I truly believe that to be a completely legitimate question until I spend time around my father's side of the family. Unfortunatly we all look alike so that sort of basically puts the ki-bosh on that thought but still.... You never know.

Saying that I walked to the beat of a different drum then the rest of the people in my family would be an understatement.
~First would be that I am a very liberal democrat. You will never catch me ever voting Repbulican. Sean Hannity drives me insane sometimes when I am out at lunch and I know is show is on I just can't help but listen to the crap that just seems to flow without thought out of his mouth.... Then I wonder if he know how egotistical he sounded thinking that everything that he thinks is right and how we wouldn't be in this mess if Obama had been elected president... Then I have to ask myself wow... You would think that he was the idiot that was in office the last 8 years- He just needs to realize that this problem was created when Republican was put into office to begin with. Honestly it still surprises me to this day that I find myself drawn to politics and things like that I will even say that I went to many many anti- Mr. Bush rallies. I was there with my signs and ready to March against injustice and my freedom of speech.

I believe even if I do raise this baby alone that it doesn't make me a bad person. I am a huge believer that things happen for a reason and even though sometimes we don't quite understand that at the time the answer shows later. People may not agree with me and think that I am making the wrong decision but who are they to judge? Just because to you it doesn't fit inside a pretty box with pretty wrapping that doesn't mean it's wrong. People may not agree with my decision or the choices that I make in my life but they are my choices I am aware of the consequences... I am aware of the choices and my the reaction to my actions and I don't ask you to agree with the things that I do. I don't ask for pity and I don't ask for support. If you don't agree with me that is fine. If I want opinions on things I will ask for them. I don't expect this to be easy and a piece of cake and that I will be the perfect parent. I am sure that I will make mistakes and I will have a hard time but it's going to be something for me. Things happen for a reason I don't believe that there are mistakes that are just expierences that you learn from. It wasn't something that was planned but it happened for a reason and I intend to treat it that way not as a mistake but as something that was supposed to be.

Well it's all out there in the open now....

I can honestly say that things weren't quite as bad as i expected them to be but they weren't as good as I hoped that they could be. Only time will tell how the situation resolves itself.

If there is any confusion to anyone that happens to be reading this I didn't come out as a lesbian or anything like that though I am sure that would have garnered slightly more positive results then what actually came out. I am expecting a baby. I didn't think that they would estatic beyond belief and I knew that they wouldn't be happy but some of the things that were said and came out after were not exactly things that I was hoping that I would hear. This is my child and I am not asking anything of them. I can figure out daycare I can figure out what needs to be done. That doesn't mean that I want or need to move back in with them and I don't need my mom to stop working so that she can stay home with the baby that is the last thing that I need or would even want. I am telling them because they had a right to know beyond that what happens shouldn't be any concern to or for them. I will find a way and make things work. If that means that I need to move then so be it but I will not move into their house with them I will do this on my own. I don't need or want their help.

It's now been 2 days since the world changing elections. We have our first African American President. It's still really hard to believe. There were alot of matters during this last election that caused alot of friction and alot of upset for many people. In California they had proposition 8 which if passed would ban gay marriage. That was quite the huge deal. I do have to admit I was a very sad when that ban passed. It's very disapointing. I am not meaning for myself but for those I know who that denies rights for them to be with the one that they love in a recognized union. I believe that everyone should have the right to be with the one that they love regardless of race, gender or any other matter. Everyone is entitled to be miserable and who are we to deny that right to them? If anything that just reaffirms my lack of desire to ever be married. Why should I be able to marry someone that I love when I have friends that wouldn't be able to do the same? How is that considered fair? It's legalized segregration.... I just don't get how people can say that a marriage between 2 people of the same sex ruins marriage and causes the decline of family. It's not like because it's legal people will be okay there saying switch to this side or like they can make you become gay....like they are going to convert you- Honestly how ridiculous is that? Seriously. It's a shame it really is. As a county in many ways we have come along way from even just a few decades ago but in other ways are are just as behind as ever. I feel awestruck thinkng about all those things and amazed. I hope that one day we are able to all be equal in every aspect and everyone can have the same rights as I do.
